FLORENCE, Ala. --- For the second consecutive Sunday, the Mississippi College baseball team went into extra innings, but were edged out in the 11th, 5-4, at the University of North Alabama. MC dips to 12-23 and 5-18 in Gulf South Conference action while UNA improves to 19-17 and 11-13 in the conference.

Trailing 4-1 heading into its final at-bat in regulation, the Choctaws tied the contest with three runs in the ninth.
Will Elliott started the scoring in the frame with a RBI double that scored
Lee Self. After
Colton Caver scored on a wild pitch, the Navy and Gold tied the contest one batter later as
Hunter Hall delivered his second RBI of the contest with a single that scored Elliott.

Hall, who put the Choctaws on the board in the third inning with a solo home run – his first of the season and 16th on the campaign for the Choctaws, and Caver stood as the only two multiple hit performances on the day as they both collected two hits.

UNA claimed the contest as Heath Wood drove in Davis Elliott with a RBI single to clinch the series sweep.

Tyler Scholl (2-3) took the loss on the mound for MC. The hurler pitched 2.0 frames as he allowed one run on three hits with two strikeouts in the relief appearance. Choctaw starter
Matt Payne pitched 5.0 innings with four runs - one earned - allowed on five hits with four walks and five strikeouts.
Parker Watts also saw action on the bump with 3.0 scoreless innings, including a walk, three strikeouts and two hits.
