MAGNOLIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College baseball team fell 7-6 as Southern Arkansas rallied with five runs in the ninth inning to topple the Choctaws at Walker Stadium at Goodheart Field on Tuesday evening.
MC (5-2) plated a pair of runs in the top of the ninth to take a four-run lead into the bottom of the frame, but SAU used four hits and a pair of errors to complete the rally. The Choctaws twice had four-run advantages in the contest.
After SAU's Corey Campbell drew a two-out, walk to load the bases for the second time in the inning, Josey Langston delivered the game-winning hit with a RBI-single down the right field line. Southern Arkansas improved to 7-3 on the season.
The Navy and Gold jumped on the board with a run in the second and third inning and extended its lead to 4-0 with a pair of runs in the sixth.

Austin Warkentin.
Blaine Crim then responded with a double to plate Ferrell in the third inning.
Whitten logged his second and third RBI of the game in the sixth as he doubled down the left field line to score
Hunter Hall and Warkentin. Whitten finished the night going 3-for-5 at plate.
Warkentin and Crim joined Whitten with three hits on the day while
Logan Ferrell,
Hunter Hall and
Toler Robinson each logged a pair of hits. A total of six batters compiled multiple hits in the setback. MC out-hit the Muleriders 15-11 in the contest.
SAU clipped the lead in half with back-to-back solo home runs in the eighth, but MC responded with two runs in the ninth as Crim tripled to score Ferrell and later scored on a fielding error. Crim joined Whitten with a multi-RBI effort.
After scoring a run to cut the lead in half for the second time in the game, SAU clipped the lead to a run on a fielding error that allowed two runs to score. A wild pitch allowed the tying run to score.
Crim (2-1) took the loss in relief. The freshman allowed two unearned runs on two hits with a pair of walks and a strikeout.
Jared Fielden (2-0) claimed the win on the mound. Fielden gave up two earned runs on three hits and a walk in the decision.
Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 20 as it opens Gulf South Conference action against West Florida. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 2 p.m.
