CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team fell 3-0 to Christian Brothers University on Thursday evening at A.E. Wood Coliseum. MC moves to 8-15 overall while CBU sits even at 11-11. The Lady Choctaws are 1-11 in Gulf South Conference play with CBU improving 6-6 in the conference.

Sydney Chandler recorded her fourth double-double of the season with a team-best 15 assists and 13 digs. The Silverhill, Ala., native leads the team in double-doubles this season.

Shelby Grace Mays led the team with nine kills.
Bailee Berringer dished out 14 assists – one off the team lead – while
Madison Kimes had 10 digs.

In the opening set, MC found itself trailing 12-9 early, but battled back to knot the contest at 17-all. CBU answered taking a 22-19 advantage. MC retaliated pulling with 22-21, but the Lady Bucs closed the set out on a 3-1 run to clinch the opener, 25-22.

The Navy and Gold held a slim 12-10 lead in the second set, but saw CBU force a deadlock with two quick points. The tie was the first of six coming down the stretch with the last standing at 22-all. The Red and Black then responded with a 3-0 run to close out the set 25-22.

CBU used a 12-6 run to open the third set en route to 25-15 decision.

Emma Lenoir and Mary Kathryn Miller each totaled double figure kills as Lenoir led the team with 14 kills. Miller added 10 on the night.

Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 22 as it hosts Union University in GSC action. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
