CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team rallied late but dropped a Gulf South Conference home game to North Alabama, 73-68, on Monday night in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
The Choctaws (4-6, 3-5 GSC) shot just 28% (9-of-32) from the floor in the first half, trailing 38-26 to the Lions (8-6, 5-3 GSC) at the halftime break, 38-26.
UNA would push out the lead to as many as 15, but MC would fight back, cutting the advantage to 69-68 with 21 seconds remaining on a three-point play from senior
Johnny Rucker.
The Yazoo City native scored 17 points with eight rebounds, including going 10-of-11 from the free throw line.
Following Rucker's play, the Lions would go 4-of-4 from the free throw line to clinch the game as Dimarrio Jackson and John Fletcher each knocked down a pair. As a team, UNA went 20-of-22 from the foul line.

Jonathan McGee led MC with a career-high 20 points, making a career-high four three-pointers and dishing out four assists. Senior
Tristan Moore scored 13 points with six assists and five rebounds.

Tory Rice scored nine points and tied a season-high with 14 rebounds. On the night, MC dominated the glass, outrebounding the Lions 46-29, including 22 offensive rebounds.
Fletcher and Jackson each led UNA with 12 points, while Austin Timms scored 11 and Tavaras Toliver had 10.
The Choctaws will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Rome, Ga. to face Shorter at 3:00 pm (Central).
