LIVINGSTON, Ala. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team fell 3-0 at the University of West Alabama on Tuesday evening to move to 1-11 overall and 0-4 in Gulf South Conference action. The Tigers improved to 3-8 and 1-3 in the conference.

"We saw some good things tonight," said head coach Peter Cosmiano. "We used all six cylinders at some points, but we also dropped back to four cylinders. West Alabama was incredibly good tonight. When we were able to get them out of system, it was a competitive match, but as the scores reflect, when we got out of system they were able to capitalize."
 
Kayana Mitchell proved the catalyst for the Blue and Gold with 12 kills on the evening. The sophomore was the only Lady Choctaw in double figures in the match. Bailee Berringer and Sydney Chandler each tallied double-digit assists in the match. Berringer provided a team-best 14 while Chandler added 12 assists.
 
MC held close in the first two games of the match, tied at 18-all in both occasions, but couldn't find a way to put away the Red and White with both sets ending 25-19. The Lady Choctaws fell behind early in the third game and never recovered dropping 25-16.
 
Morgan Ray and Jaime Lancellot each recorded double-digit kills for UWA. Ray provided 15 with 11 coming from Lancellot. Callie Murphy set up the Tigers' offensive attack with 28 assists.
 
Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Sept. 25 as it travels to West Georgia. Match time is marked for 5 p.m.
