MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team did not drop a single set on their way to a 9-0 victory over Christian Brothers on Wednesday afternoon at TPC at Southwind.
The Choctaws (5-9, 2-5 GSC) opened the day with three easy wins in doubles as senior
Matthew Martin and freshman
Joan Valy got an 8-1 win at #2 over Nick Wiseman and Stephen Johnston.
Senior
Dudley Lampton and freshman
Sanders Barrick picked up an 8-1 win at #3, while the freshman team of
Lucio Menezes and
Petar Damjanovic got an 8-2 win at #1.
In singles action, Valy was dominant in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Austin Essary at #1. Damjanovic and freshman
Jose Rodrigo Gonzalez dropped just one game over 6-0, 6-1 wins at #4 and #5.
Barrick picked up an 8-0 win at #6, while Martin went 6-2, 6-0 over Wiseman at #3.
The Choctaws will be back in action on Friday when they will host Shorter at 2:00 p.m. at the MC Tennis Complex. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was moved forward due to rain chances.
