CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team finished out their home schedule with two losses in a doubleheader to North Alabama on Monday afternoon at Frierson Field.
For head coach
Brian Owens, it was his final home games as the skipper after announcing his resignation last Monday. Owens finished his career with a 122-81 (.601) record at Frierson Field in nine years.
The Choctaws (12-30, 4-25 GSC) started the opening game down 3-0, but freshman
Kyle Smith started the comeback with and RBI groundout to score junior
Toler Robinson in the third inning.
In the fifth inning, MC appeared poised to tie the game or take the lead when they loaded the bases with one out and Smith drove in Robinson with an infield single.
The Lions (26-14, 14-12 GSC) would get out of the inning without allowing the tying run and would go on to score 10 straight to end the game and win, 13-2.
