CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team had a two-run lead with two outs in the ninth inning, but Shorter University was able to score six to take the first game of the doubleheader by a score of 13-9 on Saturday afternoon at Frierson Field.

Bolin, Upton, Hall and senior
Akiko Thompson had multiple hits for MC, while Hall had a team-high three RBI.
In the second game, the Hawks got a dominant pitching performance from Colton Cross, who allowed just three hits with five strikeouts over a complete game effort.
The Hawks got all the offense they needed in the 3rd inning when George Ragsdale hit their second grand slam of the day. They would tack on a run in the fourth and Zach Santos hit a 3-run home run in the seventh to give the game its final outcome.
Senior
Brooks Fortenberry tossed a complete game for MC with seven strikeouts, but Shorter tallied 10 hits, including the grand slam and the three-run shot.
