LIVINGSTON, Ala. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team played their fourth nationally-ranked opponent of the season, falling to #23 West Alabama, 8-1, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Choctaws (2-5, 0-2 GSC) opened the day with three losses in doubles action, but the #3 team of senior
Travis Burdick and freshman
Sanders Barrick played the tightest match, falling 8-4.
In singles play, freshman
Joan Valy picked up a huge victory at the #1 spot, going three sets with Adam Drysdale. After Drysdale took the first set, 6-2, Valy bounced back with wins in the final two sets, 6-3, 7-5, to grab the win.
The Tigers would win the final five singles matches in straight sets to take the 8-1 win.
The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday when they will host Alabama Huntsville at 2:00 p.m. at the MC Tennis Complex.
