ARKADELPHIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team traveled to Ouachita Baptist University this weekend, dropping two matches at the OBU Invitational.
The Choctaws (0-3) lost to OBU on Friday by a score of 9-0, and came back Saturday with a 9-0 loss to Southwest Baptist.
In Friday's match, senior
Dudley Lampton and freshman
Sanders Barrick played the tightest doubles match, falling 8-5 at #3, while the freshman team of
Petar Damjanovic and
Lucio Menezes lost at #1, 8-4. The Tigers swept all six singles matches to earn the 9-0 win.
On Saturday, SBU swept doubles play with an 8-2 win at #2 over senior
Matthew Martin and freshman
Joan Valy and 8-1 wins at #1 and #3. They would also sweep singles play in straight sets to grab the 9-0 victory.
The Choctaws will be back in action on Friday (Feb. 27) when they open Gulf South Conference play against Alabama Huntsville at 2:00 p.m. at the MC Tennis Complex.
