FLORENCE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a 3-0, Gulf South Conference decision at the University of North Alabama on Friday evening. The Lady Choctaws move to 3-25 and 2-15 in conference action. UNA improved to 23-6 and 16-2 in the GSC.
Kayana Mitchell paced the offensive effort for MC with seven kills.
Bailee Berringer distributed 13 assists while
Sydney Chandler added nine assists in the three sets. The sophomore from Silverhill, Ala., is four assists away from tying Pollyann Scruggs for fifth all-time in the category.
Defensively,
Madison Kimes garnered five digs while
Jamila Biglow supplied three total blocks.
After falling 25-12 in the opening set, the Navy and Gold battled back in the second game, holding as much as a four-point advantage. The Lions rallied back and tied the contest at 11-all before rattling off six straight points to take a 17-11 lead en route to the 25-17 victory.
The Purple and Gold cinched the outing behind a commanding 25-9, third set performance. UNA posted a .556 attacking percentage in the final set.
Lexie Bradley led the Lions with 11 kills in the match while Andrea De Leon dished out 31 assists. Ashtyn Kapovich recorded 10 digs to spurn the defensive effort.
Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 7 as it travels to the University of Alabama-Huntsville. Match time is slated for 1 p.m.
