CLINTON, Miss. --- After claiming a 3-1, Gulf South Conference win on Friday evening, the Mississippi College volleyball team travels to nationally-ranked West Florida on Tuesday, Nov. 3 for its final midweek outing of the season. The conference affair is scheduled for 6 p.m.
MC's leader in kills,
Jenna Campbell, posted a team-leading 10 kills in the match against UWG. The double-digit total was the fifth of the season for the League City, Texas, native and gave her 167 kills on the season.
Bailee Berringer distributed a team-best 21 assists – marking the Dickinson, Texas, native's sixth game with 20-plus assists. The freshman has tallied a team-leading 397 in her first season. Fellow setter
Sydney Chandler inched closer to the top five in career assists with 14 against the Wolves. The Silverhill, Ala., sophomore has tallied 762 in her two seasons and is 23 away from tying Pollyann Scruggs for fifth in program history. The sophomore has garnered 302 this season.
Alex Hackett spurred the defensive effort with 23 digs on the night. The junior ranks fourth on the team in digs with 134.
Taylor Edwards joined the Southaven, Miss., native in double figures with 10 in the win. The sophomore has 66 on the season and ranks seventh.
Jamila Biglow garnered a team-best, four blocks in the effort. The junior college transfer ranks second on the team in blocks with 51.
West Florida enters the match 22-5 on the season and 14-1 in GSC action. The Argos has claimed four of their last five outings with the only stumbling block against Valdosta State on Oct. 20 in a five-set decision.
Autumn Duyn leads UWF with 268 kills on the campaign while Monique StCyr has distributed 896 assists. Kathryn Torre and Tori Martella lead the defensive charge for the Argos. Torre is closing in on the century mark in blocks with 93 while Martella has recorded 425 digs.
Following the Tuesday tilt, Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Nov. 6 as it travels to the University of North Alabama. Match time in Florence, Ala., has been changed to 5 p.m.
