CLINTON, Miss — Mississippi Christian volleyball players Samarin Kipple and Cydney Mitchell were named to the Reddie-Tiger Invitational All-Tournament Team following the Choctaws' four-match weekend at Duke Wells Center.

Kipple turned in a strong all-around defensive performance throughout the tournament, anchoring the Choctaws' back row while contributing in the service game. She finished the weekend with 73 digs, 22 assists and eight service aces.

The junior opened the tournament with 15 digs, seven assists and four aces in MC's 3-1 win over Erskine on Friday. She added 15 digs against Ouachita Baptist before recording 18 digs and five assists against UT Tyler on Saturday.

Kipple saved her best defensive performance for the Choctaws' five-set win over Missouri S&T, collecting a tournament-high 25 digs while adding nine assists. Her assist on Caroline Downey's match-clinching kill helped MC secure the 15-13 victory in the fifth set.

Mitchell provided a consistent offensive presence at the net throughout the tournament. She totaled 40 kills while hitting .397, along with 11 total blocks, two service aces and 47 points across MC's four matches.

Mitchell opened the weekend with a team-high 15 kills on a .560 hitting percentage in the win over Erskine. She followed with eight kills and three block assists against Ouachita Baptist.

On Saturday, Mitchell recorded four kills and five total blocks against UT Tyler before posting 13 kills, four total blocks and 17 points in the five-set victory over Missouri S&T.

The All-Tournament Team selections mark the first tournament honors of the season for both Choctaws.

Mississippi Christian returns home Thursday, Sept. 10, hosting Flagler at 6 p.m. at A.E. Wood Coliseum.
