CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped their final home match of the season with a four-set loss to the University of West Georgia on Saturday afternoon at A.E. Wood Coliseum.
The Lady Choctaws (5-24, 0-18 GSC) bounced back from a 25-19 loss in the first set to take the second set by a score of 25-22. The Wolves (6-20, 3-14 GSC) would win the third set, 25-12, and clinch the match with a 26-24 win in the fourth set.
Freshman
Kayana Mitchell led the Lady Choctaws with nine kills, while freshman
Taylor Edwards had seven and freshman
Ashton King had six. Freshman
Sydney Chandler led the team with 27 assists to go along with two kills. Senior
Holly Tupper, playing in her final home match, led the way with 19 digs, the most for either team.
Kendall Williams led all players with 13 kills for UWG, while Tiffany Ancrum had 12. Kayla Hartman had a match-high 35 assists as Amanda Miller led the team with 13 digs.
The Lady Choctaws will wrap up the 2014 season next weekend when they travel to face Valdosta State and West Florida.
