CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped the first match of a two-game homestand on Friday night with a four-set loss to Alabama Huntsville in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
The Lady Choctaws (5-22, 0-17 GSC) lost the first two sets to the Chargers (15-10, 9-8 GSC) but fought back to earn a 25-22 win in the third set. UAH was able to put the match away with a 25-15 win in the fourth and final set.
Senior
Holly Tupper, playing in her final career home matches, tallied a match-high 21 digs. Freshmen
Madison Girndt and
Krista Zieschang each led MC with eight kills apiece, while rookie Kayan Mitchell had seven. Freshman
Sydney Chandler and sophomore
Meredith Williams split time at setter with Chandler tallying 17 helpers and Williams posting 15. MC recorded 10.5 total blocks on the night with Mitchell taking seven assisted and one solo. Williams also had a match-high three service aces.
Haley Snyder and Anna Claire Johnson each had a match-high 10 kills, while Ashton Baker led the team with 20 assists. Alexis Deal had 12 digs, while Baker tallied 10.
The Lady Choctaws will play their final home match of the season on Saturday when they host West Georgia at 4:00 p.m.
