MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team lost a three-set match to Christian Brothers University on Tuesday night.
Despite trailing 19-10 in the first set, the Lady Choctaws (5-21, 0-16 GSC) were able to cut the lead to 22-20 before the Lady Bucs (14-12, 11-6 GSC) won the final three points to take the set, 25-20. MC would grab early leads in the second and third sets, but CBU was able to pick up the victory with scores of 25-17 and 25-19.
Freshman
Ashton King led the Lady Choctaws with nine kills, while freshman
Krista Zieschang tallied eight. Sophomore
Meredith Williams had 14 assists and freshman
Sydney Chandler chipped in 13 helpers. Chandler led the team with 10 digs, while Zieschang had nine and senior
Holly Tupper had eight.
Mary Kathryn Miller had a match-high 10 kills as Brinsley Cooper had nine and Alexis Gillis tallied eight. Sami Gruse led all players with 22 assists, and Gillis had a match-high 12 digs.
The Lady Choctaws will close out their home schedule this weekend when they host Alabama Huntsville on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. They will also welcome West Georgia to Clinton on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
