CLEVELAND, Tenn.. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team opened a three-match road trip with a three-set loss to Lee University on Friday night.
The Lady Choctaws (5-19, 0-14 GSC) played a tight first set, grabbing a 9-7 advantage, but the Lady Flames (5-19, 0-14 GSC) came back to win, 25-17. Lee would jump out to big leads and win the second and third sets by scores of 25-13 and 25-12.
Freshman
Sydney Chandler led the team with 19 assists, while the freshman trio of
Taylor Edwards,
Ashton King and
Krista Zieschang each had a team-high six kills. Senior
Holly Tupper led the team with nine digs.
Lauren Williams led all players with 16 kills for Lee, while Sadie Johnson had 25 assists and Haley Foote had 20 helpers. Stephanie Hernandez led all players with 12 digs.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Rome, Ga. to face Shorter at 1:00 p.m. ET, Noon CT.
