SHREVEPORT, La. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team snapped long losing streak with a sweep of Centenary (LA) on Tuesday night in the Gold Dome.
The Lady Choctaws (5-16) enjoyed their best hitting night of the year with a .351 attack percentage and a season-low eight errors. After pulling away late in the first game for a 25-16 win, MC dominated the second set over the Ladies (2-20) with a 25-9 victory. They closed out their first win since September 5th with a 25-22 victory in the final set, snapping a 16-match winless streak.
"I've seen this coming," said head coach
Peter Cosmiano. "We have been playing too well to continue dropping matches. The Gulf South Conference is a difficult league that challenges you every time you step on the floor. I was proud of the way the girls came out and competed from the first serve tonight. They deserved this win."

Kayana Mitchell tied a season-high with 12 kills and just two errors for a .556 hitting percentage. Freshman
Taylor Edwards tallied a season-high 10 kills, while sophomore
Natalie Phelan posted seven kills with no errors in just her third match of the season.

Sydney Chandler also set a season-high with 26 assists in the match, while senior
Holly Tupper had a team-high 14 digs.
Desiree Frey of Centenary (LA) led all players with 14 kills in 35 attacks. Rachel Perkins led the team with 13 assists, while Allison Lazewski had 10 helpers.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action next Tuesday when they travel to Monticello, Ark. for a tri-match with Henderson State and Arkansas-Monticello.
