The Mississippi College women's basketball team had a split week as they fell to North Alabama 69-78 on Monday and finished out the week with a big GSC win against Shorter 61-54. 

North Alabama jumped out to a 65-54 lead with 9:21 remaining, but the Lady Choctaws would go on a 13-3 run, capped off by a layup by junior Kristen Sampson, who led all scorers with 21 points. She was 7-of-10 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line in the contest.

The Lady Choctaws had a tight match against Shorter, while Sampson led MC with 13 points and two rebounds. Sampson was 4 -of- 6  from the field and 4 -of- 4 from the free throw line.

The Choctaws will be back in action on Monday night as they host Lee (Tenn.) in A.E. Wood Coliseum at 6:00 p.m.
