Junior Adrianna Morgan has been named Mississippi College Wright & Ferguson Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (April 30).
Morgan (Lake Cormorant, Miss.) collected a win and a save in the series win over rival Delta State last weekend. In her first appearance, she came out of the bullpen and struck out all three batters she faced, preserving a 6-5 win for MC. She then started the nightcap, tossing a complete game, while allowing just four hits and one earned run with four strikeouts.
On the season, Morgan is now 9-1 with a 2.88 ERA, tossing four complete games. She ranks 2nd on the team with 65.2 innings pitched and is tied for the team lead in saves.
Morgan and the Lady Choctaws are head to this week's Gulf South Conference Tournament in Florence, Ala. as the #4 seed. They will open things on Thursday against Montevallo at 3:00 p.m.
