Senior Zack Ingram has been named the Mississippi College Merit Health Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Feb. 10).

Ingram (Vestavia Hills, Ala.) tossed 6.0 innings, allowing just one hit and one unearned run, in an 11-1 win over Young Harris College on Sunday.

He struck out three batters with just two walks and did not allow a hit or a run to the Mountain Lions after the first inning.

Ingram and the Choctaws are scheduled to be back in action this weekend to open Gulf South Conference play against West Alabama. The teams will play a single game on Friday at 3:00 p.m. with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Frierson Field and Dickins-Scoper Stadium.
