Junior Winford Ross has been named Mississippi College Merit Health Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Dec. 2).

Ross (Durant, Miss.) recorded his first double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Montevallo last Monday.

The Holmes CC transfer went 8-of-14 (57%) from the floor with five blocked shots, a steal and an assist to go along with three offensive boards and seven defensive rebounds.

On the season, Ross has scored in double-figures in five straight games with the 18 points against Montevallo being a season-high.

Ross and the Choctaws will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Laurel, Miss. to face Southeastern Baptist at 6:00 p.m.
