Senior Kaitlyn Thompson has been named Mississippi College Merit Health Female Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Dec. 2).

Thompson (Cleveland, Miss.) averaged 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds over a 1-1 week that included an 88-58 win over Tougaloo on Saturday.

The four-year Lady Choctaw recorded her first-career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds against the Lady Bulldogs, including pulling down seven offensive boards.

On the week, Kaitlyn shot 12-of-21 (57%) from the floor and scored in double-figures for the first time this season in both contests.

Thompson and the Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Saturday (Dec. 7) when they host LeMoyne-Owen at 2:00 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
