Mississippi Colege Athletics

Jake Russell had an impressive start to his outdoor season at the Mississippi College Season Opener. Russell won the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:55.71 and finished second in the 1,500 meters with a 4:02.52. Both marks are collegiate bests for the sophomore.

Russell's previous best in the 1,500 meters was a 4:09.71 at the Rhodes College Seven-Way last season and he bested his previous time of 2:01.95 in the 800 meters at Rhodes.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, March 22 at the Al Schmidt Relays on the campus of Mississippi State University.
