Freshman Breann Keller (Mandeville, La.) had a great week as she played her first singles match of the season, missing the opening part of the year after surgery following last season.
On Wednesday against Christian Brothers Keller would get a 6-0, 6-1 win over Rebecca Johnston at #4. In doubles, sophomore Courtney Schrock and Keller blanked Carley Lane and Tyler Napier, 8-0, in the #2 doubles match.
On Friday the Lady Choctaws faced Shorter (Ga.). Keller won a tight three-set match against Daniela Chipe at #4, bouncing back from a first-set loss to win 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 6-1. In doubles, Keller and Schrock picked up a 9-7 win at #2.
The Lady Choctaws (7-8, 3-6 GSC) opened Sunday's match with a doubles win as Keller and Schrock defeated North Alabama 8-5. In singles play, Keller would take a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) win at #4.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action when they travel to New Orleans, La. for their final regular season match against Loyalo University, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
