Darby Turman

Darby Turman begins her first season as a student assistant for the Lady Choctaws. The Clinton, Miss., native was redshirted during the 2017 season after playing five sets during the 2016 campaign where she was named to the GSC Academic Honor Roll.

Before her playing time with Mississippi College, Turman played libero for Jana Carter at Clinton High School where she totaled 229 kills, 253 aces, 1,500 digs in 369 sets played during her Arrows career. She recorded 116 career kills, 589 digs and 66 assists in her final season with the Red and Black and as named Most Valuable Player and earned MAC North All-Star Team. She was named captain and received the best defensive player award her junior season and was named Mississippi Preps All-State Volleyball Honorable Mention during the season. She received the Hustle Award during her sophomore year and her first best defensive player accolade. Turman was named to the Clinton High School Hall of Fame her senior year.
 
She is the daughter of Grady and Missa Turman and is majoring in social studies education.
