Alicia Thornburg enters her 11th season on the athletic training staff at Mississippi College at Mississippi College. Thornburg is heading into her 9th year as the Assistant Athletic Trainer after spending the previous two years as a graduate assistant in the department.
Alicia will be the main contact for the women's soccer and softball teams in 2019-20. In her two years as a G.A., she spent time working with the men's soccer team and the men's and women's tennis squads.
Prior to her time at Mississippi College, Alicia was a full-time athletic trainer at Faulkner University (2007-09) through Rehab Associates. She earned her Emergency Medical Technician degree from the H. Councill Trenholm State Technical College in 2008. Thornburg earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2007. She is also a member of the National and Mississippi Athletic Training Associations.
Alicia is originally from Mantachie, MS. She is married to Robert Thornburg and the two have two children, Aiden and Hadley. She is the daughter of Mark and Debbie Hopper. She is a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church and a volunteer at the food pantry called Second Harvest.
