Jonathan Hickman joined the staff in the summer of 2025 after an accomplished collegiate career as both a pitcher and position player, starting at Cleveland State Community College before starring at the University of West Georgia.

At Cleveland State CC (2019–20), he was a two-way standout, hitting .370 over two seasons with 75 RBI while striking out 80 batters in 69.2 innings. He earned TCCAA Pitcher of the Week honors in 2019 and led the team in batting average during his sophomore season before the campaign was cut short by COVID-19.

Joining UWG in 2022, Hickman started 11 games, striking out 51 in 57.2 innings and closing the home slate with a complete-game shutout vs. Mississippi College. In 2023, he contributed both on the mound (3.38 ERA, 40.0 IP) and at the plate (seven hits, seven RBI). His senior season in 2024 was his best, leading the team with 64 strikeouts in 63.1 innings, ranking sixth in the GSC in ERA (3.69) and third in opponent batting average (.230), earning Second Team All-GSC honors.

A native of Ringgold, Ga., and All-State selection at Heritage High School, Hickman also lettered in football while leading his baseball team to two Region titles.
