Colt Chrestman

Colt Chrestman joined the Mississippi College baseball staff in the summer of 2024.

Chrestman is no stranger to the Magnolia State. A native of Maben, Miss., he began his collegiate career at Northeast Mississippi Community College, where he earned all-state honors in 2018.

He spent the last three seasons as part of the Stetson University coaching staff, where he has played a huge role in recruiting and offensive development. The Hatters posted a 40-plus win season in 2024, claimed the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament title and earned a berth to the Tallahassee Regional as the No. 4 seed. SU has improved its win total during his time on the coaching staff.

He has helped improve overall offensive numbers, increasing the team batting average to .279 while hitting 79 home runs that broke the season record for home runs. Chrestman also assisted in the development of Christian Pregent, an overall 10th round draft pick to the New York Mets in 2023. His first season in Deland, Fla., was spent as the Director of Player Personnel.

Chrestman arrived at Stetson after serving as a graduate assistant at Troy University during the 2020-21 academic year. At Troy, he oversaw all video aspects for the program and assisted in offensive and outfield drills in addition to baserunning. He was also in charge of scouting report preparation and player evaluation for recruiting.

Chrestman was a turf worker at Mississippi State for athletics facilities management and he also spent time job shadowing in the MSU sports nutrition program.

Following his time at NEMCC, he finished his baseball career at former Gulf South Conference member, University of North Alabama. He was a starting outfielder for the Lions, where he earned Atlantic Sun Conference Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List accolades.
