No. 8 MC Women’s Tennis Sweeps Weekend with Wins Over No. 13 UT Tyler, Lynn

CLINTON, Miss. — The No. 8 Mississippi College women's tennis team continued its impressive 2026 season with a pair of wins over the weekend, defeating No. 13 UT Tyler on Friday before edging Lynn on Saturday.

The Choctaws improved to 10-0 overall on the year with the two victories, maintaining their unbeaten start while collecting another win over a nationally ranked opponent.

Mississippi College opened the weekend with a 5-2 victory over No. 13 UT Tyler. The Choctaws secured the doubles point by winning two of the three courts to take the early lead. Mississippi College then added four singles wins to secure the match, with the lineup delivering steady performances across multiple positions to hold off the Patriots.

On Saturday, the Choctaws followed with a narrow 4-3 win over Lynn in a tightly contested matchup. Mississippi College again secured the doubles point to gain early momentum before earning three key singles victories to clinch the match.

With the two wins, Mississippi College continues to build on one of the best starts in program history as the Choctaws remain among the top teams in NCAA Division II.

Mississippi College now turns its attention to a three-match road swing in Florida. The Choctaws will face Palm Beach Atlantic on March 11 in Cocoa, Fla., before traveling to Saint Leo on March 12 and Tampa on March 14.
