COLUMBUS, Ga. --- Mississippi College women's golf secured a sixth-place finish at the Lady Cougar Classic with a total score of 945, highlighted by
Sofia Mendez's tie for seventh place, carding a final score of 229 (+13).
The Choctaws improved their performance over the three rounds, posting scores of 320, 313, and 312, respectively. Mendez was a standout performer. Her second-round score of 70 was particularly notable, as it was 2-under par and a key factor in her top-10 finish. She sandwiched an 80 and 79 around her round two score.
Ashlynd Madden tied for 26th, finishing with a total of 238. Madden's opening round of 76 helped set a strong pace for the team. She finished with an 82 and 80 in the final two rounds. Both
Allie Myers and
Sydney Moss ended the tournament tied for 36th with identical scores of 241. Myer carded a 85, 79 and 77 to finish the tournament. Moss added round scores of 79, 80 and 82. Ana Quintanilla Gutiérrez improved throughout the event, concluding with a final round of 76, her best of the tournament, finishing in a tie for 40th at 244.
MC turns its attention to the Gulf South Conference Tournament, which starts on Monday, April 13 in Tunica, Miss.
