CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi Christian women's golf has earned a No. 33 national ranking in the latest rankings, adding to the program's momentum as the Choctaws continue the 2026-27 season.
The Choctaws return a core group led by Ashlynd Madden and Sydney Moss, who earned All-Gulf South Conference honors following the 2025-26 campaign. Madden won the Lee and Joe Duncan Invitational last spring, while Moss captured individual medalist honors at the Hal Sutton Invitational and finished runner-up at the Emerald Coast Collegiate.
Mississippi Christian also showed its potential against a competitive field at the Savannah Lakes Invitational this fall, finishing tied for ninth with a three-round total of 914. The Choctaws improved by nine strokes from the opening round to the second round, carding a 299 in the middle round.
Madden led the team at Savannah Lakes, tying for 33rd individually at 10-over-par 226. Sydney Moss finished tied for 35th at 227, followed by Allie Myers at 231, Francisca Herrera Tallone at 237 and Sofia Mendez at 238.
The Choctaws' fall schedule continues with the Women's Currahee, set for Oct. 25-27 in Toccoa, Georgia. Mississippi Christian is scheduled to return to the course in February before hosting the MC Invitational on April 5-6 in Brandon, Mississippi.
The season concludes with the Gulf South Conference Championship, scheduled for April 19-21 in Dickson, Tennessee, as the Choctaws look to build on their recent success and continue competing among the region's top programs.
