CLINTON, Miss. — The Mississippi College men's and women's tennis programs were recognized in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings released Wednesday, highlighted by a top-10 national showing for the women's team and a strong doubles ranking for one of the program's top pairings.
The Mississippi College women remain among the nation's elite, coming in at No. 6 nationally after extending their undefeated start to the season. Competing in the Gulf South Conference, the Lady Choctaws have combined depth and consistency across the lineup to stay perfect while facing a competitive slate.
Individually, Emily Buchanan continues to pace the Lady Choctaws, holding the No. 4 national ranking in singles. Buchanan has been a cornerstone of MC's success this season, producing strong results at the top of the lineup while also contributing in doubles play.
In doubles, Buchanan and Ann Cabot Stockett have emerged as one of the top pairings in Division II, earning a No. 4 national ranking. The duo has provided stability and key points in doubles competition, helping set the tone for the Lady Choctaws in dual matches.
On the men's side, Mississippi College is nationally ranked No. 13, reflecting a strong season within the GSC. The Choctaws have continued to build momentum with consistent performances across singles and doubles play.
Both programs will look to carry their national rankings forward as they continue conference competition and prepare for postseason play, including the NCAA Division II Tennis Championships later this spring.
