CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College (10-14, 7-11 Gulf South) fell to West Florida (19-6, 12-5 Gulf South) with a final score of 83-64 on Thursday night at A.E. Wood Coliseum. Mississippi Col. was unable to overcome West Florida's 10 three-pointers and a 39-27 rebounding disadvantage.
The game began with West Florida jumping to an early lead, with Christian Monroe scoring a jumper just 20 seconds into play. West Florida extended its advantage with a 3-pointer from Elijah Wyche and a layup by Aric Demings, establishing a 7-0 run. Mississippi College's
Josh Holman put the home team on the board with a layup, but West Florida's consistent scoring, including three 3-pointers from different players, kept them ahead. Despite Mississippi College's efforts, including a late fast-break layup by
DeMarcus Powe as time expired, West Florida closed the first half with a 42-30 lead.
