Choctaws Fall Short Against Trevecca Nazarene 85-68

CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College (8-8, 5-5 Gulf South) fell to Trevecca Nazarene (10-5, 5-4 Gulf South) 85-68 on Saturday night at A.E. Wood Coliseum. Despite scoring 32 points in the paint, the Choctaws were outpaced by Trevecca Nazarene's 21 fast-break points, leading to the defeat.

The game opened with Brody Davis scoring a layup for Mississippi College, assisted by Josh Holman, setting the tone for a back-and-forth first half. Trevecca Nazarene quickly matched the home team's intensity, with Da'Shon Fisher contributing fast-break points to keep the score tied early. Phil Nelson kept MC in contention, scoring multiple times, including a crucial 3-pointer with 2:43 remaining. Despite these efforts, Trevecca Nazarene managed to edge ahead by the end of the half, leading 43-39, after Jake Mulder's late layup.
