The Choctaws rallied in the second half after trailing 2-1 at the break, leveling the match with a goal in the 65th minute. Both teams managed two goals and two assists, with the Choctaws outshooting the Hilltoppers 15 to 9, but neither team could find a game-winner despite several attempts on target.
Mississippi College opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a goal by

Sergio Garrido, capitalizing on an early corner kick. St. Edward's responded in the 20th minute with a goal from Armando DonJuan, assisted by Shunji Watanabe, leveling the score at 1-1.
