CLINTON, Miss. — Lynn University, the 2024 NCAA National Champion and nationally ranked #1, defeated Mississippi College 2-1 on Friday at Robert P. Longabaugh Field.Â

Cole Turner was active in goal, making crucial saves at the 21st and 23rd minutes against shots from Lynn's Fynn Friedrichs and Dominik N'gatie. Lynn's offense was persistent, with Robin Muenst and Martijn Smith taking multiple attempts early in the half, though their accuracy was lacking.Â
Mississippi College and Lynn entered the second half tied, with both teams seeking to break the deadlock. Lynn's Dominik N'gatie scored in the 69th minute, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead after Lucas Vila received a yellow card moments prior. The Choctaws quickly responded with
Sergio Garrido's equalizer in the 77th minute, despite the team being reduced to ten players following a red card. Lynn reclaimed the lead in the 86th minute with another goal from N'gatie, sealing a 2-1 victory despite the Choctaws' attempts to level the score, including a late shot by
Brandon Reyes that was saved by Clavero.
