Logan Shurden Earns CSC Academic All-America® Honor

CLINTON, Miss. — Logan Shurden has been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Baseball Team, becoming the first Mississippi College player to receive the prestigious honor since Blaine Crim in 2019.

A standout on the diamond and in the classroom, the Exercise Science major was named to the Second Team for NCAA Division II. He is just the eighth player in Choctaw baseball history to be recognized as a CSC Academic All-American.

The West Monroe, La., native is also one of only five student-athletes from the Gulf South Conference selected to the Academic All-America® Team, which is voted on by members of College Sports Communicators and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

On the field, Shurden helped lead the Blue and Gold to a regional final - the first of the program's Division II era - 35 victories, which are the third most in school history. As an everyday starter, he posted a .321 batting average and a .918 OPS, during 58 games. He tallied 63 hits in 196 at-bats, including 14 doubles, three triples, and three home runs, while driving in 43 runs. He also scored 40 runs, collected 92 total bases, and recorded a .469 slugging percentage. He showed discipline at the plate, drawing 41 walks, which led the GSC, and getting hit by a pitch seven times, leading to an impressive .449 on-base percentage.
