MOBILE, Ala. — Mississippi College men's and women's tennis each rolled to convincing non-conference victories on Tuesday afternoon, sweeping Spring Hill College in a pair of road matches.

The Choctaw men (12-7) earned a 4-1 decision behind a strong showing in singles after dropping the doubles point. Alex Blanchard and Rafael Sabio picked up the lone doubles win with a 6-2 victory on court one, but Spring Hill took the other two doubles matches to go up 1-0.

In singles, MC quickly turned the tide. Sabio earned the first point after his opponent retired with the score 6-4, 4-1 in his favor on court two. Tedesco followed with a 6-1, 6-4 win, and Blanchard kept the momentum going with a 6-3, 6-1 win at the top line. Florian Walcher delivered the clincher with a 6-3, 6-4 decision on court three.

The Choctaw women (15-4) were dominant from start to finish, sweeping Spring Hill 7-0 while dropping just 13 total games across six singles courts. Emma Roberts set the tone at the top of the lineup with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Emma Koch. Katharina Weber recorded a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win on court four, while Jules De Mata, Alizee Ripolles, Ricio Martinez, and Elena Roberts each secured straight-set wins.

In doubles, MC swept all three courts. Martinez and Anna Hudson handled court one with a 6-1 win, followed by victories from De Mata/Elena Roberts and Stockett/Weber to secure the opening point.

Up next, both Mississippi College teams will continue GSC play on the road Thursday, April 10, against Delta State. First serve from the Cleveland Country Club is scheduled for 2 p.m.
