TUNICA, Miss. — Mississippi College made a push up the leaderboard Friday at the 2025 Gulf South Conference Women's Golf Championship, climbing one spot to finish the second round in fifth place at Tunica National Golf and Tennis Club.

The 48th-ranked Choctaws posted a second-round team score of 325, bringing their two-day total to 647 (+71), narrowly edging Christian Brothers by a single stroke. Mississippi College now sits 14 shots behind fourth-place Montevallo and remains within striking distance entering the final round.

Freshman Ashlynd Madden once again led the way for the Blue and Gold, carding a 78 (+6) in round two to match her opening-day score. Madden collected 11 pars and a birdie while navigating the fast greens and gusty conditions with control.

West Florida (+45) surged into the lead with a combined 27-over-par round on Friday, leapfrogging Union University (+49) and 11th-ranked Lee University (+51), who now sit second and third, respectively.
