CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College completed a statement weekend on Saturday, shutting out No. 2 Auburn Montgomery 5-0 to complete the series sweep at the MC Softball Complex. The sweep marks the first time AUM has been swept in Gulf South Conference play since Feb. 25-26, 2023 (vs. West Alabama) and the first time the Warhawks have been held to one run or fewer over an entire series since Feb. 22-23, 2019 (vs. West Florida).
With the victory, the Choctaws (18-8, 8-4 GSC) extended their winning streak to nine games and notched their fourth win over a top-10 opponent this season.
Game Three: Mississippi College 5, Auburn Montgomery 0
Madison Jenkins (8-2) delivered another dominant performance in the circle, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out one. AK Willingham closed out the final two frames, securing MC's second shutout of the series.
Offensively, the Choctaws took control in the second inning when Ashley Lightcap stole home to put MC on the board. The momentum carried into the third inning as MC plated three more runs, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Bella Myers. Brookelyn Cannon added insurance in the fifth with a solo home run.
Auburn Montgomery (15-6, 8-4 GSC) struggled against MC's pitching, managing just four hits in the contest. Warhawks starter S. Free (0-1) took the loss, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits over 3.1 innings.

The Choctaws set the tone for the series on Friday with a doubleheader sweep, securing a 1-0 win in game one behind a complete-game shutout and solo home run from Jenkins. In game two, MC used a four-run fifth inning—capped by a three-run home run from Blakely Gill—to rally for a 4-1 victory.
Across the three-game series, MC's pitching staff held AUM to just one total run, marking one of the most dominant performances against the Warhawks in recent years.
Mississippi College softball is set to hit the road for a key Gulf South Conference series against Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. The Choctaws will open the three-game set on Friday, March 14, with a single game at 3 p.m. CT, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, March 15, beginning at 12 p.m. CT.
