ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Mississippi College prevails over Henderson State in Wednesday's competition, riding an 8 game win streak. This moves the Choctaws to 15-8 on the season and 8-4 in GSC play, showcasing their longest win streak since 2021. Henderson State falls to 10-12 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
The Choctaws had an explosive first inning, scoring 2 runs right off the bat.
JT Vance brought in another run in the third inning, giving the Blue and Gold an early 3-0 lead. The Reddies fought back in the bottom of the third inning and slowly began to climb to an even 3-3 score in the fifth inning.
Bryce LaRocca and
Cade Gadman led the offensive efforts for the Choctaws today. LaRocca posted 3 hits and 2 RBI while Gadman achieved his first career home run, along with 3 RBI.
Gadman's 7th inning home run allowed the Choctaws to pull away to a 6-3 lead while
Logan Shurden and Gadman scored two more runs in the 9th inning for a 8-6 victory.
Jimmy Wilson was the starting pitcher today, recording 3 strikeouts. Parker Martin earned the win on the mound in today's game, striking out two batters and keeping the Choctaw defense alive. Kyle Collett secured the save.
The Choctaws are back in action at Lee University Friday, March 14 with first pitch starting at 2 p.m. for the doubleheader at Larry Carpenter Stadium.
