LAKELAND, Fla. – Both the Mississippi College men's and women's tennis teams secured dominant 4-0 victories over Palm Beach Atlantic on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Saint Leo University.
The Choctaw men took control early, sweeping all three doubles matches. Alex Benichou Blanchard and Rafael Sabio won 6-4 at No. 1, while Alvaro Saint Martin and Gustavo Tedesco claimed a 6-3 victory at No. 2. Walker Ellis and Sergio Ramirez Ocana completed the sweep with a 7-6 (7-0), 6-0 win at No. 3.
In singles, Benichou Blanchard won 6-1, 3-6, 4-6 at No. 1, while Sabio followed up with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2. Florian Walcher added another point with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3. Alvaro Saint Martin sealed the victory with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4. The match was called early after the Choctaws clinched four points.
On the women's side, Mississippi College was equally dominant in doubles. Ana Julissa De Mata and Emma Roberts won 6-1 at No. 1, while Rocio Martinez Azcarraga and Katharina Weber secured a 6-4 win at No. 2. Ann Cabot Stockett and Anna Hudson fell 4-6 at No. 3.
In singles, Roberts won 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 at No. 1, and De Mata defeated Simona Karlsson 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2. Martinez Azcarraga sealed the win with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 3.
Both teams will return to action tomorrow, March 11, at 2:00 p.m. CT as they face Saint Leo.
