CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College track and field showcased its dominance in the Gulf South Conference weekly awards, claiming all three men's honors while sophomore Katie Gates was named the GSC Women's Track Athlete of the Week following standout performances at the Pittsburg State Invitational.

Senior Brock Kelly was tabbed as the GSC Men's Track Athlete of the Week after delivering a lifetime-best performance in the mile. He clocked a 4:09.06, finishing third in a field of 49 competitors and securing the second-fastest time in the conference this season. Kelly also played a key role in the men's distance medley relay (DMR), which posted a time of 9:59.81, placing Mississippi College tenth in all of Division II.

Sophomore Bryan Puckett continued his dominance in the field events, earning his third consecutive GSC Field Athlete of the Week honor. Puckett registered personal-best throws in both the shot put (16.08m) and the weight throw (16.15m), placing fifth and 12th in their respective events. He remains the only thrower in the GSC ranked in the top three in both disciplines.

Freshman Samuel Hodson collected his second straight GSC Freshman of the Week accolade after an impressive showing in the 800 meters, where he won his section and finished ninth overall with a lifetime-best time of 1:54.74. He also contributed to the Choctaws' nationally ranked DMR squad.

On the women's side, Gates earned her first career GSC Track Athlete of the Week honor. The Columbia, Miss., native posted a personal-best time of 8.99 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing tenth in the preliminaries. Her mark stands as the second-fastest time in the conference this season. She also recorded another personal best in the long jump, leaping 4.89 meters to finish 18th overall.
