MONTICELLO, Ark. – Mississippi College secured a doubleheader sweep over Arkansas-Monticello on Wednesday, taking game one 5-4 before dominating game two with an 11-0 shutout.

In the opener, the Choctaws (12-8) built a 5-0 lead through five innings, highlighted by a two-run home run from Megan Matheis in the fourth. Arkansas-Monticello (5-10) responded with four runs across the fifth and sixth innings, but Camryn Bailey (6-4) held on for the win, tossing five shutout innings before Brookelyn Cannon closed the game.

Mississippi College carried its momentum into game two, using the long ball to power past the Blossoms. Madelyn England launched a two-run homer in the first, followed by a three-run blast from Madison Jenkins in the third. Sarah Lee and Matheis each added home runs in a five-run fifth inning, sealing the run-rule victory. Jenkins (5-2) earned the shutout win, allowing just three hits in five innings.

The Choctaws return to Gulf South Conference action this weekend, traveling to Jackson, Tenn., for a three-game series against Union University. First pitch of the series opener is set for Saturday at 1 p.m.
