CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team run-ruled Blue Mountain Christian University, 13-1, on Monday, Feb. 10. It is the third victory over the last four days for MC, which improved to 4-3 on the season.

The Choctaws tallied 15 hits in the effort, which matches a season high for the squad. Five players logged multiple hits in the contest, led by
Jordan Evans with three hits, including a pair of doubles. It is the fourth, three-hit game this season. The Tuscaloosa, Ala., native drove in a team-best four runs.

Logan Shurden each garnered two hits. LaRocca collected three RBI while Shurden added two.

A legion of MC hurlers saw action on the bump as started
Taylor Ballard (1-0) received the victory – his first of the season – going two innings with a hit allowed and one walk.

The Blue and Gold posted the first two runs of the game in the second inning and the margin held until the squad erupted with 11 runs over the middle innings to put the contest away. The Choctaws biggest frame came in the fifth as they tallied six runs. 11 batters went to the plate as seven hits were amassed. It marked the second largest, run-scoring inning for the team this season, finishing second to the seven-run, ninth inning in the Houston Astros Winter Invitational and the come-from-behind win over Arkansas Tech University.

Jabari Farr (0-1) took the loss on the mound for BMC, tossing 3.1 frames, surrendering five runs on seven hits alongside three walks and three strikeouts. Tyrese Roberson paced the Toppers at the plate with two hits.

The run-rule victory is the first for the program since Apr. 13, 2024 at Christian Brothers University.

Mississippi College returns to action on Friday, Feb. 14 as it opens Gulf South Conference play against the University of West Alabama. Friday's outing is the first of three games on the weekend. First pitch is 3 p.m.
