CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College secured a 1-0 victory over Trevecca Nazarene on Sunday at Robinson-Hale Stadium. The decisive goal came in the first half, leading to a shutout performance by Mississippi College's defense, which limited Trevecca Nazarene to just two shots on goal. The Choctaws' goalkeeper recorded no saves as the defense effectively stifled Trevecca Nazarene's offensive efforts.

The first half commenced with Mississippi College asserting early pressure, evident from an initial shot by Erin Stamatopoulos within the first minute. Mississippi College maintained their offensive push, leading to a goal by Charlie Cooper in the 9th minute to take an early lead.

As the half progressed, The Blue and Gold continued to generate opportunities, including shots from Amelie Spandet Wittenkamp and Faith Clark. Despite these attempts, Trevecca Nazarene's goalkeeper Bailie Fiore made a crucial save against a shot by Jaylen Bodry. MC entered the break with a 1-0 advantage, holding Trevecca Nazarene scoreless.

The second half commenced with the Choctaws maintaining their one-goal advantage over Trevecca Nazarene. Bodry initiated the offensive efforts with a shot on target in the 56th minute, but it was saved by Fiore. The Blue and Gold continued to press forward, with Karah Boydstun and Vail Wartes both testing Fiore in the 81st minute, yet her saves kept the score unchanged.

Despite Trevecca Nazarene's attempts, including a shot by Cristina Escudero striking the woodwork in the 84th minute, Mississippi College's defense held firm. Stamatopoulos had a late opportunity but missed wide right. The half concluded with MC preserving their 1-0 lead to secure the win.

Cooper scored the game-winning goal, converting her only shot of the match. Celine Grothe recorded a shutout, playing all 90 minutes without conceding a goal. Bodry led the offensive efforts with two shots on goal. Wartes added pressure with a shot on goal, contributing to a strong midfield presence.
