Clinton, Miss. – The No 20 Mississippi College Women's Soccer team opened their home conference schedule with a 2-2 draw against Union University (Tenn.) on Friday.
Bethany Guinness came out of the gate with the first goal for the Lady Bulldogs in the 14th minute. The Lady Choctaws came out of the first half with nine shots while the Lady Bulldogs had one shot.
Margherita Giubilato scored first for the Blue and Gold during the 38th minute, with an assist by Vail Wartes.
Rebekah Jackson scored the second goal for the Red and Black with the assist from Lucia Revuelto in the start of the second half.
Irene Lores evened the score up with a 73rd goal that found the back of the net to make it a 2-2 game.
"The montenum pushed us to give it our all, but we could not capitalize on our end." Eduarda Sofia Silva said.
This draw brings the Lady Choctaws to 3-1-2 on the season and 0-1-2 in conference play. The Lady Choctaws continue their home stretch by facing Christian Brothers University at 3 PM at Robert P. Longabaugh on Sunday.
