Locke to Lead Choctaw Sports Performance Staff

CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College and Athletic Director Kenny Bizot announce the hiring of Logan Locke as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance. Locke comes to MC after working at the University of Southern Mississippi.

"We are excited to have Logan join our family at Mississippi College," said Bizot. "From the time you meet Logan, you can feel his drive for what he wants for our programs. Like us, he is eager to see our programs and departments succeed at not only the conference level, but regionally and nationally."

Locke, who will oversee the 18 Choctaw athletic programs, served as a graduate assistant on the USM strength and conditioning staff from August 2022 until joining the Choctaw staff. During his time with the Golden Eagles, he was responsible for the efforts with the men and women's tennis and golf programs. He assisted with program designs and implementation with the baseball, softball, volleyball and beach volleyball programs.

"I am very humbled by the opportunity to get to continue my strength coach career and carry on the championship mindset here at Mississippi College," said Locke. "I'm equally excited to build a positive culture within the weight room that will give our student-athletes the tools to be able to thrive on and off the field."

Prior to his time in the Hub City, Locke was an intern at the Mississippi State University for three years. During his time with the Bulldogs, he worked primarily with the men and women's basketball, and baseball teams.

Locke, who is also an active member of the United States Army National Guard, earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Mississippi State in 2020 and garnered his Master of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Coaching and Sports Performance with Southern Mississippi in 2024.
