CLINTON, Miss. -- Mississippi College's track and field program has qualified nine outstanding athletes for the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, set to take place at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas, on May 23-25. This is the most athletes the Choctaws have sent to the NCAA DII Outdoor National meet in program history.
The men's team secured eight qualifiers across five events: the 400-meter dash, 1500-meter run, 5000-meter run, 10,000-meter run, and the 4x400-meter relay. The women's team secured a single qualifier in the Women's 1500-meter run.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Men's 4x400-meter relay team has qualified for the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. Notably, Niklas Klei, the recent Gulf South Conference (GSC) Track Athlete of the Year, qualified in both the 400-meter dash and the 4x400-meter relay for the second year in a row.
Cole Benoit, a five-time GSC Champion and 2022 national qualifier, will compete in the Men's 1500-meter run. Jan Lukas Becker, the reigning national champion in the Men's 10,000-meter run, has been selected to compete in both the Men's 5000-meter and 10,000-meter runs.
Lauren Wallace, the school record holder in the Women's 800-meter and 1500-meter runs, will represent Mississippi College in the Women's 1500-meter run. She is the first-ever qualifier in that event for the Lady Choctaws.
